Broad Street to Radcliffe Square
Walk Broad Street, the Sheldonian, Catte Street and Radcliffe Square, detouring to the Bridge of Sighs. Enter the Bodleian courtyard when open, then use your booking for one library or college interior.
Lunch and a museum
Covered Market, then art or natural history
Choose lunch in the Covered Market, then an afternoon at the Ashmolean or Natural History and adjoining Pitt Rivers. Leave enough time to explore the collections that interest you.
Neighbourhood evening
Dinner in Jericho or on Cowley Road
Have dinner on Walton Street in Jericho or Cowley Road in East Oxford, then try a nearby pub or bar. Staying in one area leaves more time for the evening.
Day two begins
A meadow walk before choosing your route
Walk Christ Church Meadow, free during daylight except 25 December. From here, follow the southern Thames route or return through town for Jericho and the canal.
North or south
One riverside afternoon
North: browse Walton Street, then follow the canal towards Port Meadow. South: follow the Thames towards Iffley, or take a seasonal Folly Bridge trip. Choose one route and check path or boat conditions.

A last coffee or bookshop browse
Return for a Turl Street coffee, a market browse or Broad Street books before collecting luggage. Leave time to reach your departure point.
