A slow start
The best brunch
in Oxford.
Five brunches chosen by the morning you want: a bookable occasion, a vegan table, a neighbourhood café or a quick city-centre start.

Oxford brunch is not one thing. Pick whether you need a reservation, a plant-based kitchen, a proper central breakfast or a long catch-up, then choose the place that delivers that.
This is a focused editorial starting point, based on the venues' own current information. It is not a claim that we have eaten every brunch in Oxford, and the order is not a ranking.
Opening times, dishes and allergen arrangements change. Check the live menu and speak directly to the venue before relying on a particular option.

Five useful
brunches.
Bookable occasion
Gees
Gees serves brunch daily from 9am to 11.30am in its Victorian conservatory, and says walk-ins are welcome without a table guarantee. Pick it when the setting and a reservation matter as much as the plate.
Plant-based and East Oxford
Green Routes
Routes Coffee Roasters' flagship at Green Routes pairs specialty coffee with a vegan kitchen. It is walk-in only, so suit it to a flexible morning rather than a fixed large-party plan.
All-day independent
The Jericho Café
The Jericho Café describes an all-day brunch, with a broad menu influenced by France, Turkey and North Africa alongside English breakfasts. Its Walton Street location makes it a natural part of a Jericho afternoon.
Central breakfast
Oxford Brunch Bar
Oxford Brunch Bar is an independent café with breakfast and a booking option. Use it when a city-centre table is the main plan; confirm current dishes and availability direct, especially at weekends.
Coffee-led start
The Covered Market
If no one wants the same thing, the market is more useful than forcing a single brunch menu. Start with coffee, make one lap, and choose a counter once everyone has seen the options.
Editor’s note
Book the occasion; leave the rest loose.
Brunch queues are part of Oxford at peak weekends. A reservation is sensible for a time-sensitive plan; walk-ins suit a day where a short canal walk or coffee can absorb the wait.
A vegan or vegetarian label does not answer every allergy question. Ask the venue about ingredients, preparation and cross-contact directly.
