Dinner in the centre or a neighbourhood?
Westgate and St Michael’s Street are handy if you are already in the centre. Cowley Road and Summertown may suit somewhere you are staying or an evening out nearby. For a group, agree a budget that includes rice, bread and drinks. Tell the restaurant your curtain time if you are going to a show afterwards.
Mowgli at Westgate
Mowgli is at 309 Westgate on the roof terrace. Its Oxford menu includes street plates, curries and lighter dishes, with Yoghurt Chat Bombs, black dahl and tamarind-coated fries among the options. It lends itself to a shared order. Ask how much your group needs, and include rice, bread, drinks and extras in the total. Chutneys on St Michael’s Street
Chutneys is at 36 St Michael’s Street, close to George Street for an evening out. It has restaurant and takeaway menus. The homepage lists dinner from 5.30pm to 11pm and says lunch is closed, although a lunch-menu link remains. Confirm directly if you need a different service.
