Oxford City Guide was started by me, Alissa Robinson, an American who moved to Oxford a few years ago with my family (from Australia, but that's another story...). Frustrated by the lack of practical information I found before moving here, and then again when searching for things to do when visitors came, I decided to fill the information void myself and make it easy for all the tourists and new students who come to Oxford each year.

After working on the guide for a while, I realised that it was being used by as many locals as visitors, so I added local listings, like cinema showtimes and a weekly gig guide for checking out live music.

It's my hope that Oxford City Guide is considered a full service website - that for locals or visitors, whoever uses the guide will find what it is they are looking for, and then keep coming back!

I think that Oxford is an amazing city and this website was born from a love of my new city.
