Hoodwinked (U)
Starring: Glenn Close, Chazz Palminteri, James Belushi, Anne Hathaway
An utterly irreverent and hugely enjoyable mixture of classic fairytale stories and hard-bitten police investigation (with healthy doses of humour), HOODWINKED is Little Red Riding Hood turned slightly askew. The story begins where Little Red Riding Hood ends as the Grandmother (Close, 102 DALMATIONS) and the Woodcutter (Belushi) confront the Big Bad Wolf. Suddenly the Police arrive (all animals), blocking the entrances to the house, and begin their investigation of the human inhabitants. Little Red Riding Hood (Hathaway, THE PRINCESS DIARIES) is the prime suspect, with the Woodcutter and the Grandmother also coming under suspicion. This impressive, character-based animation maintains an accessibility throughout with wise-cracking dialogue, jokey insider references and a roll call of instantly familiar fairytale figures.
SAT 31 JULY - KIDS CLUB 13:30
Kids' Club is exclusively for children and their parents/guardians. Unaccompanied adults are not admitted. Parents may leave children over eight alone in screenings but should be aware that the cinema is not providing any official childcare. If you leave your children in the cinema please be there on time to collect them at the end of the film.
Gainsbourg (15)
Starring: Doug Jones, Laetitia Casta, Lucy Gordon, Eric Elmosnino
While so many biopics can be criticised for idolising their subject, GAINSBOURG stands up as a frank look at the life of an enigmatic musician whose legacy is second only to his legend. Based on director Sfar's graphic novel of the same name, the film offers an introspective glimpse into the world of French singer Serge Gainsbourg, from his tough childhood growing up in Nazi-occupied Paris to his death in 1991, via his troubled yet hugely successful time as a songwriter in the 1960s. Eric Elmosnino (THE FATHER OF MY CHILDREN) is uncanny as the eponymous artiste, while Sfar's elegant direction makes this a poetic homage that will thrill Gainsbourg disciples and the uninitiated alike.

In a series of casual conversations, Stone sits down with presidents Chavez, Evo Morales (Bolivia), Lula da Silva (Brazil), Cristina Kirchner (Argentina) - as well as her husband and ex-president Néstor Kirchner - Fernando Lugo (Paraguay), Rafael Correa (Ecuador) and Raúl Castro (Cuba).
