Restaurant Review

'I spent a semester studying abroad at Oxford and frequented The Trout several times.  The rural setting of the restaurant is a nice break from the usual hustle and bustle of the downtown area. The fireplaces and relaxed atmosphere were a perfect way to wind down at the end of a long day

The soups are wonderful and I believe are all homemade. I had the lamb chops multiple times and would highly recommend them. The pasta dishes were a bit bland, but were more than plentiful.

Though the food is delicious, it is the quiet ambiance that really sets this restaurant aside.  Where else can one dine in the same place as Lewis Carroll and C.S. Lewis while listening to the small dam outside and watching the peacocks stroll on by.

If you are in Oxford or the greater Oxford area, I highly recommend a stop at The Trout. The prices are reasonable and the comfort is unbeatable!'
